We analyze the impacts of the dimensions of governance on the labor market, in particular on the informal sector of two developing countries : Madagascar and Vietnam. The thesis will be structured around three chapters. The first chapter analyses the impact of trust in public institutions on the choice of informality in Madagascar. The second chapter deals with issues of protection against discrimination: we seek to measure and characterize cases of ethnic and gender discrimination in the Malagasy labor market. The third and final chapter analyses the impact of corruption on the formalization of firms in Vietnam and on their economic performance.
